Parking Day Recap

Parking day was an opportunity to step out of the office and interact with the “real” world... And what’s better than breaking down walls, meeting your neighbors and opening up a dialogue about something that affects us all in one way or another.

Parking Day was really impactful for our team because we were able to capture the meaning of ‘community’ in a physical way. Belltown is a unique neighborhood with an eclectic group of businesses, organizations and residents that carry the name of ‘Seattle’ with a sense of pride. New Horizons has been blessed to be a part of this neighborhood for years, and Parking Day was one of the first opportunities we have taken advantage of to work along side our neighbors to raise awareness around the issues surrounding homelessness. Parking Day demonstrated to our team and our community that, when we work together, we can build a community that people want to be a part of.

I feel we raised awareness and sensitivity by opening up a dialog for real people facing real challenges. As per our goal, it was a successfully engaging and interactive event, topped off with great coffee!
