We're Teaming with Architects Without Borders Seattle

At Caron, we value diversity and rely on the strength of our passionate, talented staff and their diverse cultural backgrounds, to bring a fresh perspective to each of our projects and to our community both locally and internationally.  As a firm, we’ve donated hundreds of hours teaming with local non-profit organizations in Seattle and have participated in a variety of programs.

Most recently, Caron has with partnered with Architects Without Borders Seattle (AWB) to create a masterplan and design for the Academy of Excellence for Girls in Esquias, Honduras in partnership with Educate2Envision International (E2E).  E2E’s mission is to provide access to secondary education for girls from rural regions of Honduras by funding the cost of education in return for the student’s participation in community development and entrepreneurial activities.

The Academy of Excellence will provide free education for approximately 125 girls. The educational campus will provide classrooms, laboratories, workshop spaces, cafeteria, dormitories and administrative structures with several outdoor recreational areas. The vision for the Girls Academy is to elevate the status of rural education and provide access to a prestigious learning institution for girls from villages across Honduras.

Campus programming, master planning and concept design is currently underway. Phase one of the four-phase development is scheduled for completion of construction and occupancy in February 2020.

We believe the work contributed by AWB and E2E is invaluable to this community and we’re excited to share the project’s process with all of you.
